Fellowship Presbyterian Women
Presbyterian Women (Presbyterian Women) is a national organization of women in the Presbyterian Church USA. Like the governing structure of the Presbyterian Church USA, Presbyterian Women are organized at Synod, Presbytery and local church levels. The Presbyterian Women mission statement follows:
“Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves: to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible Study, to support the mission of the church world wide, to work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring, community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.”
All of the women of the church are members of the organization of Presbyterian Women (PW). Presbyterian Women are organized into a unit referred to as a circle for monthly, specialized Bible study. Other significant meetings are held in September, December and March.
Fellowship Presbyterian Women support mission and disaster relief projects locally and internationally. Annual PC (USA) Fellowship of the Least Coin, Birthday, and Thanks Offerings are expressions of mission to support others through gifts and talents.
The PW organization compliments the programs of the church and its mission through the following activities:
●Developing Presbyterian Women Weekend and Women’s Day Program
● Supporting church youth programs, youth educational pursuits, and any church programs
●Participating in the Christmas tradition of Hanging of the Greens
●Supporting programs of the Presbytery
-Thank Offering, Christmas Joy Offering, and Fellowship of the Least Coin
